Test account for shared posts
On echobeach.nl/aloha I have initiated an account to share new users on. It will be set up as an example for an account especially for shared posts, not just in the timelines but also in the accounts profile. There the shared posts are shown in a visual grid. This is not possible yet so I have to make copies of these posts. The result can function like a visual starter-pack. It will make it easy to find accounts to follow.
If this works well we can suggest it as a new feature. Once implemented anyone who wants to can use accounts like this for their own niche, research, city, tribe, mission or craft. Anybody willing to start their own test account should get in touch with me.

A personal profile
You should be able to set up your profile a a personal ‘homepage’. It could be strictly business, more diy scrapbook or atmospheric photo-journal with a custom color palette, header photo, etc.
When you ask artists for positive social media examples MySpace comes up a lot. MySpace is no longer around however, and not just because of the huge amount of advertising. What happened? It turns out customizability was also a factor. Because each page was different it became hard to navigate. A lesson for us: some fixed structure is required.

Test account voor gedeelde posts
Op echobeach.nl/aloha heb ik een account aangemaakt waar ik alle nieuwe gebruikers zal gaan delen. Het wordt opgezet als voorbeeld voor een speciale account voor het delen van posts, niet alleen in de tijdlijnen maar ook op het profiel van het account. Zo krijg je de gedeelde posts in een visueel grid te zien. Omdat dat nog niet kan moet ik nu de posts kopiëren. Er ontstaat iets dat kan werken als een visueel starter-pack. Je kunt eenvoudig accounts vinden om te volgen.
Als dit goed werkt kunnen we het voorstellen als nieuwe feature. Eenmaal ingevoerd kan wie dit wil zelf zo’n account opzetten voor zijn eigen niche, onderzoek, stad, tribe, missie of ambacht. Wie nu al een eigen test account wil aanmaken kan dat bij mij aangeven.

Een persoonlijk profiel
Je profiel zou je moeten kunnen vormgeven als een eigen ‘homepage’. Naar wens strak zakelijk, als diy plakboek of als sfeervol fotoalbum met aangepast kleurenpallet, header foto, etc.
Als je kunstenaars vraagt naar positieve voorbeelden van sociale media wordt vaak MySpace genoemd. MySpace bestaat echter niet meer, en niet alleen door de enorme hoeveelheid reclame. Hoe zit dat? Het blijkt dat ook de optie om alles volledig aan te passen er ook aan bijdroeg. Elke pagina was anders waardoor navigeren zeer moeilijk werd. Een les voor ons: er is dus wel iets van een vaste structuur nodig.
