Phased growth

A dedicated server will offer artists a platform where they can control their images and stories, without filters, without gate-keepers, and without an underlying revenue model.
We will get to decide ourselves how echobeach works and we can work towards specific changes that are interesting to us.
We can do this in the following steps:
1) We start using echobeach and start collecting requests and ideas.
2) We organize ourselves as an artists collective and develop tools that will make it easier to take part, like manuals and starter-packs. We will prepare a proper launch with a diverse group of exciting artists with a large following.
3) We will send proposals to Pixelfed for upgrades. These will be connected to steps of our own to strengthen our community. We will look for capital to have the most desired features developed.
4) If necessary echobeach could become a stand-alone ‘fork’ of Pixelfed. Because of the high costs involved echobeach will have to become a strong institution and it will be smart to work together with other interested parties on this, also internationally.

Groei in fases
Een eigen server biedt kunstenaars een platform waar ze zelf controle hebben over hun beelden en verhalen, zonder filters, zonder poortwachters, en zonder onderliggend verdienmodel. 
We bepalen zelf hoe echobeach werkt en we kunnen aansturen op specifieke aanpassingen die voor ons interessant zijn. Dit kan in de volgende stappen:
1) We nemen echobeach in gebruik en verzamelen wensen en ideeën.
2) We organiseren ons als kunstenaarscollectief en ontwikkelen tools die het aantrekkelijk maken om in te stappen, denk aan handleidingen en starter-packs. We werken toe naar een lancering met een diverse groep toffe kunstenaars met een groot bereik.
3) We doen voorstellen aan Pixelfed voor upgrades in samenhang met stappen om de gemeenschap te versterken. We zoeken financiering voor het ontwikkelen van door ons gewenste features.
4) Indien nodig wordt echobeach een zelfstandige ‘fork’ van Pixelfed. Gezien de hoge kosten vereist dit dat echobeach een degelijk instituut wordt en is het verstandig om samen te werken met andere partijen, ook internationaal.
